About Veteran Search Network

Our Mission

Mission Statement

At the heart of our mission are the recorded tri-weekly educational Veteran Search Network Roundtables, where veterans gather to learn, engage, and grow in understanding key concepts of Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA). Each roundtable features a focused theme addressed by guest speakers with knowledge in various aspects of business acquisition and entrepreneurship. After each roundtable session, community members receive a newsletter featuring additional resources to build upon and prepare for future roundtable sessions.

Furthermore, we provide tailored resources specifically curated to enhance learning. This includes a rich library of learning materials, expert insights, and practical tools, all designed to streamline and support the process of acquiring and managing a business.

Beyond these educational cornerstones, Veteran Search Network offers unparalleled access to a robust veteran community. This is a space for networking, sharing experiences, and building lasting relationships with fellow veterans who are navigating similar paths.

Charlie McCarthy

Co-Founder

Charlie McCarthy is a co-founder of Veteran Search Network, a nonprofit that began as Veteran ETA. He is a Corporate Associate at Whiteford, Taylor & Preston LLP and serves as a Navy JAG reservist. Before law, Charlie was a U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Officer. He led technical teams on deployments, planned complex operations and managed upgrades to Department of Defense weapon systems. He now brings his military background and corporate legal experience to Veteran Search Network. There he helps veterans find their way into business ownership through Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA).

Gabrielle Fung

Co-Founder

Gabrielle Fung is a co-founder of Veteran Search Network, a nonprofit that began as Veteran ETA. She built her leadership style as a U.S. Naval Officer, where high-stakes work taught her how to lead under pressure and bring teams together around a shared mission. Since then she has done her best work in fast-paced settings, working with teams from across an organization. She is driven by a belief that people do their best when they’re able to bring their whole selves to work. At Veteran Search Network, she helps fellow veterans put that leadership into a new mission: finding, buying and running a business of their own through Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA).
